Directions:  From I-95 take Fernandina Beach Exit #373. Follow the signs for Historic Fernandina Beach and cross the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge.  After the bridge, go about 4 miles. After the stoplight at Beech St it's 1 1/2 blocks to our driveway, which is marked by a sign.  Turn in and follow the brick path the the front door!  Check in is 3 - 6 pm, other times by prior arrangement.

 


Ten elegant guestrooms in the style of days gone by and the comfort of today in this magnificently restored 1905 mansion located in Amelia Island, Florida.  


Graceful wrap around porches, ceiling fans and bay windows warmly welcome visitors to Hoyt House, a centerpiece of the Historic District, just a short walk or bike ride from the ocean.  After a restful sleep, linger over a breakfast of Blueberry Caramel French Toast, sausage and fresh fruit, read the paper and have that second cup of our special coffee blend or your choice of teas.  Relax by the pool and hot tub or in one of our many common rooms and enjoy afternoon refreshments or a glass of wine on the porch while you retreat from the world for a while. 

When you're ready for activities, choose from a large list of things to enjoy--an amble down Centre Street to visit delightful shops and galleries or a bike ride around the Historic District for an up close view of beautifully preserved Victorian architecture.  Our Guests often enjoy an hour's boat ride on the Amelia River where dolphin and submarines cruise and we encourage a visit to Fort Clinch---our own claim to pre-Civil War fame.  Of course, everyone delights in the Florida sunshine that beckons visitors to nearby white sugar sand beaches for a refreshing dip or a stroll along the ocean's shore.  Horseback riding on the beach?...absolutely!
 


 

Guest Rooms

Each guest room at Hoyt House features a private bath with fluffy bath towels, robes  and an elegant assortment of  bath products.  We also provide a hair  dryer, iron & board, TV/DVD player and  telephone. Many rooms have  desks for the business traveler and high speed wireless internet service is available on site. Room rates include complimentary use of bicycles, beach towels & chairs, breakfast,  afternoon refreshments and evening wine.

  • Guest Check-in is after 3PM & Check Out is by 11AM.

  • We are happy to accept cash, Visa, MasterCard & American Express. 

  • Children/Teens 12-21 are welcome.

  • We have a strict indoor non-smoking policy and request guests to smoke in the designated space outdoors.

  • We DO NOT ALLOW PETS.

  • Please let the innkeeper know of any special dietary requests when you make a reservation.

  • Rates are subject to change without notice.

Reservations

  • 50% deposit or the cost of one night’s stay will hold your reservation with the balance due upon arrival. 

  • Room deposits are collected the day of the reservation  up to 12 weeks in advance. 

  • Function deposits are collected the day of the reservation and are non-refundable. 

  • Cancellation:  Notice is needed as noted,

7 days -- 1-2 night stay on a non-holiday or special event date;            14 days -- 3-5 night stay, Gift Certificate, special event or holiday; 30 days -- multiple rooms or a scheduled function 

  • A processing charge of $5 is applied and a confirmation # is issued. 

  • With required notice, we are happy to refund the deposit balance within 14 days; 

  • Without required notice, deposits (or Gift Certificates/Coupons) are forfeited if reserved nights are not re-sold. 

  •  Guests are responsible for pre-purchased items in the event of cancellation.

  • Please! Do not fail to cancel a reservation.  Your deposit guarantees your reserved room is held for you.  It is essential to cancel any reservation so that we may release the room and attempt to resell it for you. 

  • Late arrivals/early departures are responsible  for the cost of the entire stay.

  • A Gift Certificate must be used by the expiration date.  (Sorry, no credits, extensions or  transfers)
