1.  Can you give me a flat price to have a full service wedding

The Packages offered assist with basic planning, however, weddings are personalized and vary greatly from one to the next.  The style of the ceremony, flowers, music and type of reception are unique to each couple.  Basic costs include (a) rental of the location and (b) rental and set-up of items you will need for a reception including tents, tables, chairs, linens, dishes, bar items etc. (c) You must also budget for flowers, music, photo and videography if desired.  (d) Food & food service are a large part of the wedding budget can cost from $50-$150/person, depending on your food & drink choices, the size of the group, the style of food service you choose and the decor of the party.    There is no 'one-size-fits-all' cost for a wedding.

For those who need a starting place for budget planning, the cost for a house party weekend for 20, including a wedding with all the trimmings, guest activities and a seated dinner for 50 ranges from $10,000-$20,000 depending on your personal style and selections. A consultation with one of our Wedding Planners will help nail down preferences and costs.  .

2.  We have children, can they stay with us at the inn?

Children may be accommodated for full House Parties.  Otherwise, we enjoy our young adult guests and welcome ages 12 and older for overnight stays.  The house is not well suited to younger guests, however, young children may attend an outdoor ceremony with supervision. Some thoughtful brides have hired a caretaker to entertain children and supervise the children's dinner so parents can relax and enjoy the party.

3.  Is it really necessary for us to rent so many rooms and if we rent the entire house, is there a discount?

We are first and always an Inn and enjoy offering our home for special functions to our guests.  When our staff is providing the attention and service we extend to our guest functions, we can not adequately meet the needs of other guests who may be staying in the inn but are not a part of the activities, noise and excitement.  When your guests are OUR guests everyone in the inn can enjoy the festivities and no one feels left out.  We are blessed with booked weekends throughout the year and do not need to extend a discount to keep the inn fully occupied Friday and Saturdays.   We  may offer a discount  to guests planning an event that includes 1/2 or full house rental for 2+ nights mid-week (Sunday - Thursday) with Holidays, Special Events and Friday and Saturday nights excluded.

4.  Can we rent just one night on the weekend?

At certain times we may be able to accommodate the need for limited rooms for one night, however the majority of requests for weekend reservations are for Friday and Saturday night.  The size of our inn demands we maximize reservation capacity and if we offer 1 weekend night, we lose the opportunity to fully reserve for the weekend.   When you choose a destination wedding at Hoyt House your guests enjoy a relaxing weekend stay and can shop, sightsee, visit with one another and meet new relatives during your wedding event.  They will also enjoy the slower pace of a 'house party' weekend with no rushing from the airport or distant cities and no driving to and fro for pre-wedding, wedding and reception events. Consider your wedding weekend a gift of relaxation to your guests with a party thrown in for fun!

We thank you for your interest in Hoyt House and hope you will consider celebrating here with us. Please call 800-432-2085 to check dates, discuss your event and set an appointment to tour the inn and grounds.

With Regards and our congratulations,

Jerry & Barb Decker
